Teen driving courseThank you to everyone in Rochester and Buffalo who participated in the Key to Safe Teen Driving course. In conjunction with the Mid-Ohio School, Kumho Tires and Key Bank, Dunn Tire was enthusiastic about bringing this valuable defensive driving course to our community.  It gave teens a hands-on opportunity to experience slippery road conditions, skid control, emergency lane changing, and many other difficult driving scenarios.

We are happy to report that Rochester had the single highest attendance turnout in the 18 city stop thus far.  In fact, Rochester had the first highest (110 students) and second highest (99 students) single day attendance figures.  Buffalo had the third highest overall attendance.  This is truly a positive reflection of the entire community.

“This unique and hands-on program teaches teens important safety measures that they simply won’t learn in a standard driving class” said Chuck Haring, Director, Marketing & Advertising at Dunn Tire.  “It’s essential that the teens actually feel the ABS break pulsation, learn to steer into a skid, and experience wet road conditions prior to real life instances. These tests are being conducted in a controlled environment and will help to prepare these young drivers for split second emergency situations.”

Also a special thank you to local media stations for helping to promote this timely event.  We appreciated the special news segments by:

We are confident that this free defensive driving program is a worthwhile event. We look forward to collaborating with the Mid-Ohio School, Kumho Tires, and Key Bank again next year to bring this program to our community!
